A family will donate their full share based on the number of children in their household and generously agree to “sponsor” a child in our district. This is a wonderful way to support our diverse community and help the Foundation achieve its goal.

Why you should participate!
Did you know that without the support of the Foundation, the art program, music program and technology program could be at risk? It is surprising to understand the economics of California’s schools despite the fact that we live in an affluent area such as Marin County. Less than 50% of property taxes go to schools statewide. The district relies on the support of the Foundation to help bridge the gap in public funding.
For every kindergarten family that makes a “Full Share” contribution per child (or more) to the Annual Giving Campaign, David Gilmour and Paradise Foods will contribute an additional $325 to the Corte Madera Larkspur Schools Foundation!
Why March as a fundraising deadline?
The Larkspur School District is required to balance and submit their budget to the State by March 15th. The District must, at the time of the budget submission, notify any staff of pending layoffs. The impact of your Family Giving Campaign donation is greatest BEFORE the budget is submitted. Act early!
Pay with your credit card!
We offer a monthly donor payment option via your credit card, allowing you to break your donation down into smaller monthly payments.
ANOTHER WAY TO GIVE: make a gift of stock
Donation options to CMLSF have been improved and expanded to include gifting appreciated stock! Donating appreciated securities has significant benefits:
• You don’t pay capital gains tax when you make a stock transfer directly to CMLSF.
• You qualify for a tax-deduction based on the fair market value of the stock if you have held your stock for over a year. Please consult with your tax advisor for more information.
To make a gift of stock, simply instruct your broker by filling out the stock transfer form to transfer the shares to the Foundation’s Charles Schwab account. Once you have initiated the stock transfer with your broker, please mail the form to the Foundation office at 230 Doherty Drive in Larkspur. The Foundation must be aware of your intention so that we can monitor the account for receipt. All stocks transferred to the CMLSF will be valued and recorded as of the date the donor relinquished control of the asset in favor of CMLSF.
